AVENGED SEVENFOLD LIVE IN PUERTO RICO 14.01.26

Avenged Sevenfold came back to Puerto Rico on January 14, 2026, at Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot (El Choliseo), and honestly… what a way to start the "Life is but a Dream" tour. This show was originally supposed to be the last stop of the tour, on October 14, 2025, but after M. Shadows’ vocal setback and the postponement, Puerto Rico ended up being the first. And it really felt right. If you’re going to come back after something like that, this is the place to do it.

From the second “Game Over” started, you could tell this wasn’t just another show. The production was insane, easily one of the best we've seen at a show on the island. Big screens, crazy visuals,

beautiful lighting, everything hitting exactly when it needed to. “Mattel” came in strong, “Afterlife” had everyone singing, and by “Hail to the King,” the entire place was on their feet, fully in it. Avenged Sevenfold has always had a special connection with Puerto Rico, and you could really feel that energy back and forth all night. “Gunslinger” and “Buried Alive” brought that emotional side, while “The Stage” was just a reminder of how solid and tight this band is live. They weren’t trying too hard, they weren’t overdoing it, they were just doing what they do best, putting on an incredible show. Like a band that knows exactly who they are.

One of the strongest moments of the night was “So Far Away.” M. Shadows dedicated it to Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, and when that huge silhouette of him came up on the screen behind the drummer… yeah, you felt that. The whole vibe in the room changed. It wasn’t overlooked, it wasn’t crazy, it was just a really emotional, respectful moment. You could feel how much love there still is for him, from the band and from the fans. Then the energy picked right back up with “Bat Country,” “Nobody,” and “Nightmare.” The crowd was loud, engaged, singing everything,

just people fully enjoying the moment. “Unholy Confessions” hit hard (as always), and “Save Me” and “Cosmic” were those songs that just pull you in and make you stand there like… yeah, this is special.

Ending the night with “A Little Piece of Heaven” was perfect. Dramatic, dark, fun, a little unhinged, exactly what it’s supposed to be. The visuals were wild, the crowd loved it, and it was just a really fun way to close the night. The connection between the band and the crowd was top tier. Avenged Sevenfold looked genuinely happy to be there, grateful to be back, and Puerto Rico gave them that love and energy right back. It felt mutual, and you don’t always get that.

Opening the show was local band Moths, and honestly, that was amazing to see. They played eight songs, mostly from their new album Septem, and the crowd support was strong. People were paying attention, cheering, actually listening, not just waiting for Avenged. It was a powerful reminder that Puerto Rico’s metal scene is alive, strong, and still going hard. Moths didn’t just open the show; they represented the island, and they did it proudly.

January 14, 2026, at El Choliseo wasn’t just the start of a tour. It was the start of something unforgettable. It was one of those nights you’re really glad you were there.
